Doggy Daycare - A Safe, Fun, Stimulating social environment for dogs

Why Doggy Daycare?

Dog Daycare is a service that is becoming popular because it meets the many needs of so many dogs and their owners!

For many people, dogs are their children. Leaving them cooped up in the house or apartment all day long makes them feel guilty and sad. Dog Daycare provides a much welcome alternative.

Many dogs experience separation anxiety when left alone during the day. They may destroy home furnishings, have accidents in the house, bark non-stop and generally get much stressed out.

Dogs are social animals and enjoy being part of a pack (group)….. Interacting and playing together at Dog Daycare under proper supervision is an ideal environment for this instinctual behavior.

Dog Daycare provides the ideal outlet for even the most active dog’’s pent-up energy. After a day at Dog Daycare, canine "kids" will be as tired as their "parents" and relish an evening cuddling on the couch or a shorter walk…no need for that five mile run!

Regular attendance at Dog Daycare will help your dog firm muscles and lose weight.

Dog Daycare is a wonderful solution when a maintenance person pays a visit, an allergic visitor arrives, or an extended appointment schedule necessitates temporary safe and comfortable quarters for a dog during the day.

Dog Daycare even makes grooming fun by combining it with a day of play.

Our goal at DOG n’ SUDS is to provide a safe, fun and stimulating social environment for dogs during Monday to Saturdays.

Daycare can help prevent or alleviate behavioral problems such as digging, chewing, house soiling, aggression, barking and undirected energy. So if your neighbors are complaining, or if you would like some help in managing your dog’s time, DOG n’ SUDS DAYCARE could be the answer for you.

Besides the training benefits, daycare is FUN! Your dog will enjoy a variety of activities while in our care.

  • Supervised group play
  • Individual play with staff
  • Fun, confidence-building games
  • Nap time
  • Walks for those signed up
  • Lap time
  • Lots of safe toys
  • Playground equipment
  • Practice of known obedience commands
  • Indoor and outdoor play areas

While at daycare, your dog will be reminded of appropriate manners around people and other dogs. Positive socialization is encouraged and practiced. Your dog will return home well exercised and stress-free from romping with his other dog friends. After all, we cannot keep up to our dogs like another dog can. Your dog will be happily tired and ready for a quiet evening when you return home.

Other services offered by DOG n’ SUDS include:

Puppy Daycare

Puppy daycare is not as crazy as it may sound. In fact, dog-dog socialization is as essential to your puppy’s development as proper feeding. Puppies that are not taught to play appropriately with other dogs at a young age do not develop important skills needed to survive happily in the world.

Learning to socialize with another dog, or your other family dog, is not the same as learning to socialize with a group of dogs. Group dog play teaches different skills that cannot be learned in one-on-one play. They learn to build confidence, deal with hierarchy, and appeasement behaviors. Puppies that learn to play well are less likely to turn into dogs that fight.

From the moment your puppy is safely vaccinated against disease, socialization must begin. The socialization window closes between the ages of 3-5 months. After this period, socialization is still possible, but a little more difficult. Therefore, it is important to expose your dog to as many different people, dogs, and situations as you can.

Social skills develop with repeated exposure and deteriorate with isolation. Socialization is a "use it or lose it" skill. Without practice, dogs may become increasingly fearful of things they may have encountered earlier but not been exposed to since. It is important to practice this skill throughout the dog’s life.

Dog play is an important part of the process. Through play, dogs learn bite inhibition - how to control the strength of their jaws. A socially inexperienced dog may come on too strong with other dogs, leading to miscommunication, or squabbles.

Puppy Daycare will introduce your dog to a variety of people, dogs, and other stimuli. Regular attendance can keep your dog’s skills fresh, improve his/her state of mind, and exercise him like nothing else.

The Dog n’ Suds daycare facility has all the essential features needed for puppy daycare - It is equipped with indoor space for rambunctious dog play, an outdoor toilet area to keep housetraining skills fresh, professional staff who monitor the dogs at all times and who will alert you to potential behavior problems early on. Our dog trainer will help for working on specific behaviors. Needless to say, a daycare that uses crates in its daily operations is not providing your puppy an opportunity to practice his social skills. Dog n’ Suds does not crate dogs are part of the normal daycare routine. If you plan to choose other daycares ask to see the facility before you need to use it. Staff should welcome your visit and your questions.

Give your dog the best chance in life and socialize him early, well, and often!

What are we looking for? Not much .... Essentially, just to see that your dog is:
